If boys do it, how hard can it be?

There’s a particular kind of confidence that develops after you’ve spent enough years waiting on a man to do something he promised he was going to do.

Fix the shelf. Hang the picture. Deal with the leaking faucet. Put the thing together. Make the phone call. Take care of whatever has been sitting there for three weeks because apparently “I’ll do it” is a complete project plan.

Eventually, waiting becomes more irritating than learning how to do it yourself.

And then there’s the other part.

You spend enough time watching perfectly mediocre men volunteer for things they barely know how to do, get hired for jobs they only sort of understand, speak with complete authority while actively figuring it out, and somehow come out the other side just fine.

After a while, a woman starts thinking maybe the qualifications were never as complicated as everybody made them sound.

Maybe confidence was doing a lot of the heavy lifting.

So eventually you look at the unfinished project, the instructions, the power tool, the application, the job posting, or whatever else you’ve been told is difficult and think:

If boys do it, how hard can it be?

This one is deliberately simple. Bold vintage inspired lettering, a bright pink boys, and one pink underline because the sentence really doesn’t need much help making its point.

It’s not about already knowing how to do everything.

It’s about being entirely willing to find out.

Every design has a backstory. This one started with waiting on somebody else to do it and ended with realizing I could probably figure it out myself.
