Gen X We Didn’t Have Playlists We Had Soundtracks | Retro Music Graphic Tee
Before playlists followed us everywhere, we waited by the radio with one finger hovering over the record button.
We made mixtapes. We carried cassette cases in the car. We knew which songs belonged to which summers, which breakups, which road trips, and which version of ourselves.
And if the DJ talked over the intro, we took it personally.
We Didn’t Have Playlists, We Had Soundtracks is for the generation that remembers rewinding tapes with a pencil, recording songs off the radio, and carefully arranging a mixtape like somebody’s emotional well-being depended on the track order.
The distressed lettering and retro colors give it the worn-in feel of something that could have survived the 80s right along with us.
Every design has a backstory. This one was recorded off the radio.
