Aqua Tofana Garden Club | Vintage Botanical Dark Humor Tee
Aqua Tofana Garden Club | Vintage Botanical Dark Humor Tee
Welcome to the Aqua Tofana Garden Club.
The flowers are lovely. The history is questionable. The women are supportive.
This design grew out of my fascination with the strange places where history, folklore, women’s lives, and dark humor overlap. Aqua Tofana has become one of those stories that gets passed around almost like legend, and the contrast between a genteel little garden club and something much more sinister was too good to leave alone.
The vintage botanical style keeps it pretty enough to look almost respectable. Almost.
Supporting Women Since 1633 does a lot of work here.
This shirt is for history people, gardeners, readers, women who know exactly what the reference means, and anybody who appreciates a joke that takes a second to land and gets darker the longer you think about it.
Every design has a backstory. This one comes with flowers, folklore, and plausible deniability right up until your internet search history becomes public.
